Bahrain is back to normal, and while i got a bit busy with business as usual... the blog has remained a constant nagging to-do in my head.... Because I really need people to know!
While many businesses have suffered, due to the disruption in the past few months.... guess what? The Government of Bahrain cares about the small businesses more than any country in the world! Compare BAHRAIN'S government actions to actions of supposedly 'first world' governments and tell me if anyone has done this:
Enterprise Support Fund
The government through the Tamkeen program is giving out distress GRANTS! Let me make it more clear if its not clear enough.... NOT a loan... a GRANT ranging between $9,000 to $26,500 for distressed companies that are having problems paying utility bills, salaries and other fixed costs!! Or companies that have had to increase their debt to sustain their regular business activity...

GRANTS between $9,000 to $26,000.... hmmmmm, would my own parents give me this kind of money to get me out of trouble?? Because I didnt manage my cashflows properly or because I didnt access the market?
For those that might say that this is 'my right' as a citizen... NO! NO! NO! This is not your right... There is no constitution in the WORLD that says that the government should bail you out as a small-medium size business that has no impact on the economy as a whole... At the end of the day, you are not a bank that will cause a collapse in the financial system, nor are you a huge industrial backbone of the country! You are a SME that owns a coffee shop, or restaurant or a tailor or maybe even a local grocery... Whatever your business is, to the WORLD you dont matter... BUT to the government of BAHRAIN you do! Thats why we are different....
